A team from IMSETHC-BAS has developed and put into operation a device for obtaining foam glass granules and granules from porous composite material. The facility is a longitudinal rotary furnace with a rotating working space, a programmable gear motor and heating sections located on a movable metal structure. From the obtained granules of different diameters, fire-resistant, energy-saving, heat- and sound-insulating composite elements for construction are made with recipe compositions depending on the purpose.

Sensor technology for obtaining and controlling nuclear energy

The Institute of Robotics has developed a sensor technology for obtaining and controlling nuclear energy with high hydrostatic pressure, including a thick-walled titanium steel chamber with a cylindrical channel along its length, which will be filled with deuterium with radioactive material and graphite particles dispersed in it. A key advantage of the new sensor approach is the reduction of the amount of nuclear fuel, which is a strategic raw material.
