The Braille display invention consists of a grid (11) with openings and, placed beneath it on a base (10), a matrix of electromagnets (1) consisting of an outer cylindrical magnetic conductor (2), magnetic conductors (3a and 4a) with windings (3 and 4), and a non-magnetic sleeve (5) movable in the area between the windings, which carries an axially magnetized permanent magnet (6) and a non-magnetic needle (7) with a flat ferromagnetic washer (8) on top and a conical ferromagnetic washer (9) on the bottom, the electromagnets (1) being fixed to a base (10), and a grid (11) with openings through which the needles (7) pass being placed above the electromagnets (1). The Braille display is used to create an auxiliary text/graphical computer interface for people with visual impairments.
