Abstract

This utility model relates to a composition of electrofibrous fibrous materials of aliphatic polyester (e.g. polylactic acid, polyhydroxybutyrate or polycaprolactone) and essential oils of Salvia sclarea and Oregano heracleoticum and / or an individual biologically active polyphenolic anti-curcumin compound which have antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal properties. The fibers may also contain a nonionic water-soluble polymer such as polyvinylpyrrolidone. The fibrous materials are obtained by electrofibrous method. The resulting fibrous materials do not contain organic solvent and are made of biocompatible polymers and natural biologically active substances, which makes them suitable for external use by people of all ages. The fibrous materials are distinguished by high loading efficiency for linalyl acetate – a key compound present in essential oils as well as in turmeric. The obtained fibrous materials containing essential oils have proven antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal activity and can find application as medical or cosmetic dressings or tampons in medicine, pharmacy, cosmetics and others.
