and 17 lake types have been systematized and analyzed in IBER &#8211; BAS, and type-specific fish communities have been determined according to the typology of surface water bodies in Bulgaria. The composition and parameters of these communities are included as the main metrics for the calculation of the ecological status assessment indices for the biological quality element &#8220;Fish&#8221;. aims to solve several key problems using the advantages of DNA barcoding technology:<br \/>\u2022 Taxonomic identification of individuals in all stages of development &#8211; from seeds and sprouts to individual parts of tissue, facilitating the monitoring and study of species at different stages of their life cycle;<br \/>\u2022 Identification of phenotypically similar individuals within a species;<br \/>\u2022 Diagnosis of phytopathogens causing similar symptoms on agricultural crops and discovery of new pathogens, which is of utmost importance for the development of targeted plant protection measures.<br \/>\u2022 Building effective strategies for plant resource management and pest control. Accurate identification of plant disease agents is an essential prerequisite for choosing strategies for effective protection.<br \/>\u2022 Distinguishing taxonomically complex species;<br \/>\u2022 Identifying species composition in mixed samples \u2013 analysis of environmental samples such as soil, water, air, foodstuffs, etc., which will improve understanding of biodiversity and species interactions.<br \/>IPPG-BAS offers specialized services for DNA-based identification and monitoring of plant resources and phytopathogenic fungi.
