On October 20, 2025, the second procedure for the selection of proposals for supporting the patent activity of the units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was opened. The procedure is financed under Component 2 Scientific Research and Innovation, Investment C2.I2: “Increasing the innovation capacity of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the field of green and digital technologies” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
The main objective of the procedure is to support the patent activity of the units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the effective protection of their intellectual property and acceleration of technology transfer. Therefore, investment C2.I2 contains measures aimed at the units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences conducting research related to the green transition and digital technologies, and having the resources and capacity to prioritize their developments towards creating innovative solutions suitable for application in a business environment.
The procedure is implemented with the financial support of the European Union under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The total amount of funding is BGN 1,157,820.00, of which BGN 1,028,800.00 under the MRF and BGN 129,020.00 national funding for non-refundable value added tax.
Beneficiaries under investment C2.I2: “Increasing the innovation capacity of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the field of green and digital technologies” are the independent scientific units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (institutes or scientific specialized units).
