Our Mission
ESSENCE
The Joint Innovation Centre is a coordination unit for the innovation policy, patent activities and project competence of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The Centre provides information for project applications/calls of the European Structural Funds and the Horizon Europe Frame Programme and supports the project application and execution procedures. The Centre also maintains business contacts in country and abroad in the field of innovation and technology transfer of applied research, and supports the establishment of “science to business” and “science to science” interaction.
COOPERATION
JIC’s partners are the Institutes and the Labs of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, many national Universities as well as similar European Units, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Sofia Tech Park, Applied Research and Communications Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Plovdiv, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Stara Zagora, the Business Center for SME Support – Ruse, the Mechatronics and Automation Cluster, the Maritime Cluster Bulgaria, Southeast Digital Innovation Hub, other regional innovation centers / hubs, the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as non-governmental organizations with similar goals. JIC is partner at the Enterprise Europe Network – the biggest information and consultancy network in Europe and worldwide, dedicated to the business and science support for their innovative capacity building and development. One of the main JIC’s activities at the Enterprise Europe Network is detection and promotion of scientific and technological research and its offering in a large transnational platform, as well as, support for establishing partnerships and collaborating in joint projects. JiC is a co-founder of the Technology Transfer Office PROINNO. JiC was established in 2005 as Centre for Innovations, restructured in 2010 and renamed to Joint Innovation Centre.
